Bullet and BGK’s First Winning Championship Run
It all started when…
National Vizsla Association Amateur Championship 2014, Bullets winning run;
We are so proud of Bullet for his first Championship Winning run in 2014 in the NVA National Amateur Champion! Our other Stud dog Boots was the Runner Up in the National Amateur Event, and Bullet also took Runner Up in the (Open) Championship! Below, are a few pictures from his Amateur Championship run!
Even though the event is held in March, a light snow had fallen on the course. Excited about the light snow and perfect scenting conditions, Jarrett walks Bullet to the line everyone on the team has THEIR game faces on!
Allison cuts bullet loose as the judges announce “Cut ‘em Loose! Your on the clock! National Vizsla Association Amateur Championship 2014 is underway”
They are off! Jarrett sets his watch for 60 minutes of running time, now lets go win an championship!
Jarrett on Mavrick, his favorite horse on the team. Maverick carried Jarrett to a lot of wins! He knows the game and loves his job playing it!
Allison is on her horse and the gallery is off to watch the dogs compete!
BGK is getting to work now! Bullet is in front on the line going forward, Jarrett watches and calls handling commands to Bullet who kindly responds, Allison stays wide from the group to keep an eye on Bullet so as to easily spot him should he slam to a point in thick cover so she may alert Jarrett "Dog Standing," music to any handler's ears from their scout! Allison is on her horse (Faith, a fitting name for her) and the gallery is off to watch the dogs compete!
Bullet covets his first bird on the buffet line about 10 minutes in! It is worked flawlessly with the precision of champions.
Second bird, 40 minutes in, midway up Horse Killer Hill, as good as the first one!
After nearly an hour of running, bird number three, just before time is called! Just a few minutes left, no room for errors now!
Feeling happy with the performance of Bullet and team BGK! This is what the ride back to the group looks like, before you know for sure that you have just won a National Championship with the FIRST field trial dog you ever owned and trained! I think Bullet is smiling as he knows he just put down a breath taking, national caliber run! Jarrett and Bullet shared steak that night! A regular tradition anytime a dog of ours has a big win.
Bullet on the winners hill as a Champion for his first time and Team BGK’s first time. We trained as a team together, human, canine, and equine, we win together as a team!
